contact information and project details remain the same as provided by in this JusticePASH website.
The Justice Project Against Sexual Harm is now the law project of the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation.
The Justice Project Against Sexual Harm (JusticePASH) provides low-income survivors of sexual assault and exploitation with low or no cost civil legal representation, policy and media advocacy.
Incidents of sexual assault and abuse have reached epidemic proportions in Illinois, and fewer than half of all assaulted girls and women trust the criminal system enough to even report being raped to the police. Of those rapes that are reported, only a small number of victims see the perpetrators charged, let alone successfully prosecuted. The result: those individuals perpetrating sexual assault are not being deterred or punished, and their victims are struggling alone to deal with the emotional and financial damages of the crimes committed against them.
- Filing lawsuits seeking financial damages against individual and organizational perpetrators of sexual abuse;
- Pursuing litigation to obtain civil findings that rape occurred and to enjoin perpetrators from further contact with victims;
- Organizing community advocacy efforts to pressure the criminal system to better respond to rape; and outreach education and advocacy efforts for quality laws related to sexual assault, prostitution, and sex trafficking.
We serve male and female victims of sexual violence of all ages, races, socio-economic background, abilities, sexual orientation, nationalities and immigration status.
